Please take a few minutes to review this page. It will allow you to understand the process before we get started.
My “real” fulltime job is with the Sheriff’s Office as a K9 handler. (Former State Trooper K9 Handler) This job has to come first. I cannot always work in the shop every day. Wood working is what I do because I love to do it but the Sheriff’s Office is my primary responsibility.
My ultimate goal is to hand you something you can’t stop looking at. Something you want to show everyone that comes in your home or office. Something you can be proud of and pass down for generations. That is why I have made a decision to do something that may cost me customers but will allow me to sleep at night. I cannot promise boxes by a certain time. People often ask how long before my box is going to be ready. Short answer is this, I cannot allow it to leave until it meets my standards. I have no problem telling you what number you are on the list and what number I am beginning work on but even that is only a snapshot in time. Once I begin work on your box it may still be some time before I can finish. There is a place on my home page (www.The1842.com) just under the first video that will tell you what group of boxes I am working on. I will make sure this is kept up to date. It will be months sometimes before I start on your box. I have attempted several times to “promise” items will be completed, and it has always caused problems. I have been forced due to time constraints to ship out boxes I am not satisfied with. I cannot explain to you how miserable the feeling is to know you can do better but because I try and meet a deadline, I send you something that is less than it should be. My process is not right for everyone. My style of work is not something you can get off the shelf at Walmart and the time it takes me differs from month to month, year to year. My goal is to serve you and provide you my “FINEST” work. I trust you will understand.

Once I have all of the information for the box, Name, Company and year of Graduation, I will draw it up for approval. Pickup is always available and preferred. Once we have an approved "proof", I will send you a request for the deposit of $400 to get on the production list. This payment is non-refundable.
I can take your credit card using PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay or mail me a check. Once that is received then your box goes on the list to be produced.
When I get to the group that your box is in, I will send you a second request for final payment ($400). You have 10 days to secure payment.
*The Ring Seal, hand painted with the year of graduation you request
*Cadets name and Company
*Dovetailed Corners
*The hidden hinges made from the same wood as your box
*Your choice of Citadel blue or traditional Leather in the bottom of the box
*The outside is polished to a high gloss shine (Like a Humidor)
From Thanksgiving until the first of the year is when I work on things for my family. I will do very little in the shop. You may not see much progress on my list at that point. I take a week off in the summer with family and anytime I have a request to make a piece for a fallen solder, or Law Enforcement I take the time to make it to fit the burial/ceremony schedule.
